Direct Tile Importers opt for Kerridge Commercial Systems' K8 tile distribution software

Kerridge Commercial Systems is chosen as the preferred supplier, with its K8 system, at Direct Tile Importers

"It was essential for us to implement a computerised system to enable us better control of our operations," says Mick O'Neill, Managing Director of Direct Tile Importers Ltd. "I am a firm believer that the Kerridge Commercial Systems' system will support the day-to-day activities of the business."

Mick, together with Sue Humphries, Accounts & Import Manager, got in touch with Kerridge Commercial Systems, in January 2003, when they realised that their existing accounting system was struggling to keep up with the demands of their expanding business.

Explains Mick, "stock control and stocktake were amongst our main concerns and we really needed a system that could efficiently deal with those areas. We felt we needed a supplier with extensive experience and understanding of the tile business, so we contacted other tile companies to find out what systems they use and how satisfied they were with their suppliers."

Amongst others, Direct Tile Importers spent a couple of days during a reference site visit at Eastern (Glazed Ceramics) Ltd, in Norfolk, who have a very busy trade counter, to get a better understanding of the Kerridge Commercial Systems' solution in a live environment.

Sue Humphries says, "we were very impressed with the functionality of the Kerridge Commercial Systems' solution and felt that it would be the ideal for us to control our stock, given that we have had some problems with boxes going missing in the past. It also clearly demonstrated how we could run our business, more efficiently, which is key for us to continue being successful."

Staff at Direct Tile Importers already feel comfortable with the new K8 system, as the Windows environment was instantly familiar to them. "We can't afford to get it wrong, and with Kerridge Commercial Systems, we are confident we will get it right first time," says Sue. "That is why we chose to partner with Kerridge Commercial Systems, who clearly has a very good understanding of our business and the issues we face in our industry."
