Normans and Kerridge Commercial Systems – catalysts for change
Norman Limited, the leading Timber and Builders merchant in Jersey, has chosen the Kerridge Commercial Systems' K8 solution as its key business management solution to help drive the business forward.
The K8 software solution, from Kerridge Commercial Systems, will be implemented across the diverse Normans business throughout 2005. Having evaluated and proven K8 in their Iron Stores subsidiary between January and June 2005, Normans were convinced to press ahead with an extensive implementation programme involving an additional 100 users.
"K8 is not just a replacement system," says Nigel Queree, IT Director of Normans. "We are looking to use K8 as a catalyst for change. We have already seen at our Iron Stores subsidiary how K8 can help to bring us improved stock control and increased accuracy at the point of sale. With more efficient stock control we can offer better customer service while maintaining tight control of our working capital."
K8 offers a range of reporting tools including exception reports so that key performance indicators are brought to the fore. Nigel continues, "with the real-time information, available from K8, we are able to proactively drive the business forward."
Inventory management is essential for any business. "The additional Forecasting and Perpetual Inventory features, provided as standard in K8, will help us implement best practice throughout the business."
Comprehensive system
The K8 system offers a very comprehensive range of features as standard. Sales order processing, in particular, is very flexible. This is essential for the diverse range of products handled by Normans. Specific features are also provided to cater for the requirements of Timber and Builders Merchants.
Other key standard elements include such things as; E-Commerce and Tool Hire. Nigel comments, "we were particularly impressed by the commitment of Kerridge Commercial Systems to continually evolve and enhance K8. Our business is constantly developing through innovation. We need to be with an IT partner who understands our business and can support us for the long term. For example we will be implementing the K8 Tool Hire module so that we can fully integrate our Plant Hire business."
